what do stematix chapters do?

STEMATIX Journalism Chapters work on engaging the youth of their community in STEM through journalism by leading and/or participating in the following activities.​

There is already a stematix chapter in my country, can i start one?
Yes! Chapters can be country-specific or school/community specific. If you are the first one from your country to create a STEMATIX Chapter, we will ask you to make it country-wide in order to open the opportunity to every student in your area. 
how long does it take to start a chapter
We're very fast, the process shouldn't take more than a week or two!
What sort of resources do you provide to chapter directors?
We provide micro-funding, publicity to our global network of student contributors, curriculum, event support, and the opportunity to contribute to our various STEMATIX publications and journalism initiatives!
what is the age requirement for starting a chapter?
Any middle school or high school students are welcome!
does starting a chapter require any experience?
No, this is a great way to develop your leadership skills!
I don't want to start a chapter, can i still join stematix if there is no chapter in my region?
Yes! You can join the STEMATIX team by filling out this form.
do chapter meetings need to occur in-person?
Nope, the STEMATIX Organization itself is for the most part online. Feel free to hold meetings in whatever capacity works best for you!
Does it cost any money to register a chapter?
Nope, Chapter registrations are completely free of charge thanks to our generous community partners and sponsors!
